There is another way that you can use with the ingredients surrounding you in your kitchen.   After getting fruits and vegetables from market, do not put away them into fridge right away as the cooler temperature will slow down enzyme's catalytic effect to disintegrate pesticides; instead leave them in room environment for while.  Before preparing for meal, use rapeseed powder or flour to make dilution with water and apply it on surface of fruits and vegetables.  Then, clean it with running water; this will clean out bug's eggs and dusts.  Pay attention to the bottom of stem, if there is still some leftover, rub it over.  Repeat these steps few times and most dirts, bug's eggs, pesticides should be cleaned away.  If you are still doubtful and want to clean it even more thoroughly, you can immerse your fruits and vegetables in a pot of filtered water with 50 cm3 vinegar before your meal.

For those fruits with uneven surface such as guava, you can use flour, soybean powder, baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) powder, or crude salt to rub on the surface.
