sleep and healthSufficient sleep is needed for good health.  Sleeping helps to rest, relax, and recuperate from fatigue and tiredness.  With sufficient sleep and nutrition daily, body functions such as digestive system, blood circulation, immune system will be improved.  On contrary, sleep deprivation or chronic lack of sleep will cause bad complications to thinking ability, vigilance, and endocrine system. 

Lymphocytes function

In Florida, researchers have shown that the increased level of B and T Lymphocytes after sleep treatment and hypnotized course.  In addition, the patients appear to be more self confident and independent in problem solving.

Sleep and hormone

Lack of sleep will cause central nerve system becoming active, suppressing the function of pancreas and thus lowering the amount of insulin secretion.  Normally, sebum to steroid hormones secretion will slow down during the night and with secretion of melatonin; we shall fall asleep easily. Sebum to steroid hormones activities shall peak again in morning.  With sufficient sleep, the cycle repeats normally that gives people fresh look in morning.  However, with prolonged lack of sleep, sebum to steroid hormones level cannot peak in the morning; leaving people feeling worn out.

Sleep and obesity

Under prolonged insufficient sleep, the body will undergo serious aging, some will result in cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and other sleep disorders. 

Poor immunity

A healthy body comes from good sleep (apart from good nutrition, exercise).  A healthy person has strong immunity that can deter and fight the attack of germs and illnesses.  Insufficient sleep will deteriorate human's immune system and give rise to complications such as high blood pressure, neurasthenia, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, and mental disorders.
